Microalgae Cultivation

We cultivate selected freshwater and marine microalgae species for a range of current and emerging applications. Our work supports the development of regenerative agriculture through soil health improvement and biostimulants, as well as the aquaculture industry through the production of live microalgae cultures. Looking ahead, we are developing technologies to produce high-value biomolecules, including plant-based proteins for the food industry and bioactive peptides with potential anti-ageing applications in the cosmetics industry.

Biomass Processing

We process microalgae biomass at production scale using specialised technologies including centrifugation for biomass harvesting, high-pressure homogenisation for cell disruption, and enzymatic treatment to produce tailored bio-based ingredients. These processing capabilities enable the development of high-value products and support the recovery of valuable biomolecules for applications in the food, cosmetics and agriculture industries.
